SOUTH BEND - Mary Adamski, residing at Southfield Village in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011.

She was born September 3, 1923, in South Bend, Indiana, to Louis and Matilda (Moro) Lovas, who preceded her in death.

Mary married Benjamin Adamski, who was her high school sweetheart, on June 27, 1944, in Fresno, California. They were blessed with two lovely daughters. Mary took great pride in her two daughters, Benita (John) Fenter of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Beverly (Kenneth) Cinal of Nipomo, California.

Her life was made even more happy and complete with her only grandson, Christopher Cinal of Santa Maria, California. Mary later shared five years of her life with Sigmund Czerniak, who also preceded her in death.
Mary was greatly respected by her fellow associates at Studebaker Aviation, Alumni Tool and Die, 1St. Source Bank, where she was a teller for 23 years, and the Notre Dame Athletic Department for 13 years in the Ticket Office and Catalog Center. She also assisted NBC affiliates under Lou Holtz.

Mary was a member of the American Polish Business Women, American Business Women, Potawatomi Chapter, 1st Source Business Women, Notre Dame Alumni Women's Group, the Hand Bell Choir at St. Paul's, and the Red Hat Society. She loved arts and crafts and volunteered her time for numerous organizations.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her unforgettable smile will be greatly missed by everyone. Mary's family expresses a heartfelt thank you for the extraordinary loving care that she received from the staff, nurses and CNAs at Southfield Village. The family also expresses their sincere appreciation to her devoted Hospice Team.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, in Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. This reminds me of the Hungarian Harvest Dance we had every year on West Washington Street. What good times we had. Rest in Peace lovely Mary.
