Valentine S. Ambroziak Feb. 14, 1916 - Feb. 24, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Valentine S. Ambroziak, 99, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in the Hospice of St. Joseph County. Valentine was born February 14, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Lucas and Frances (Sokolowski) Ambroziak. On July 5, 1941, Valentine married Gladys (Galeziewski) Ambroziak, who preceded him in death on September 25, 1990. Valentine was also preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. Survivors of Valentine include his children, Cindy Shubert of South Bend, Terri (Tom) Luc of Laurel, MD, and Mary Lou (Dick) Marnocha of North Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Tommy (Lora) Luc, Tina (Rob) Garrick, Mark (Mara) Marnocha, Rick Marnocha, Kelly Shubert, Jeremy (Tanja) Shubert; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Valentine honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a welder for the Bendix Corporation and retired in 1975. Valentine was a member of American Legion Post #357, St. Joe Young Men's Club, and the Harvest House at St. Adalbert. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker & euchre, working in his flower garden, and was an avid ND fan. Visitation for Valentine will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, February 27, 2015, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
