John F. Alberts, a lifelong resident of Goodland, died Sunday October 10, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as a result of a farm accident. He was 42.
Mr. Alberts was born May 21, 1957 in Lafayette to Keith and Patricia (Troupe) Alberts, they survive.
A 1975 graduate of Tri-County High School, Mr. Alberts attended Purdue University. He worked as a farmer. Mr. Alberts married Barbara Deno on July 10, 1982 on their farm. They were sealed to each other on August 10, 1985 at the Washington D.C. Mormon Temple. He was an elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Lafayette.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Alberts is survived by his first wife, Jennifer Real of New Albany; two sons, Michael A. Auxier of Wolcott and Curtis D. Auxier of Lafayette; two daughters, Andrea A. and Ursula A. Alberts of New Albany; a sister, Susan Fleener of Nashville; a grandmother, Bernice Andres of Rensselaer; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Autum.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, October 13, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Lafayette. A one-hour visitation will precede the service, which will be officiated by Bishop Conley.Burial will be at noon at Remington Cemetery in Remington. Visitation was held Tuesday night, Oct. 12, at the Stitz Funeral Home in Remington. (Published 10/13/1999).
