Lois Mardelle (Kingman) Alberts, 94, of Remington died at 1:50 am, Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center, Monticello.

She was born November 30, 1920 in San Pierre, IN to the late Augustus Murray and Marguerite Helen (Fitzgerald) Kingman. She was a graduate of Rensselaer High School.

On December 22, 1940, she married the love of her life, Harry W. Alberts in the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Remington. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2008.

After high school, Lois worked as a bookkeeper at Karnowski's Junkyard in Rensselaer. She also worked as a receptionist for 17 years for Dr. Schantz in Remington, 7 years at the Clinic of Family Medicine in Rensselaer, 17 years for Dr. Petrie in Remington. She also worked for the Remington Carpenter Township Public Library.

She was a member of the Remington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, CDC Resources of Rensselaer and numerous euchre clubs. A sports fan, she was a loyal fan of the Cubs and Purdue University. She also loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was always on the go and enjoyed vacationing and travel.

She is survived by her son, Robert Alberts (Patricia) of Remington; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Alberts of DeMotte; 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey Alberts (Stacie) of Remington, Jason Alberts (Tiffany) of Remington, Jon Alberts of Fowler, Justin Alberts (Amanda) of Wolcott;, Stacey Fishel (Jeremy) of Indianapolis, Brian Alberts (Samantha) of DeMotte, Amanda Moore (Tyler) of South Bend, 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Murray and Marguerite Kingman; 2 sons, William and David Alberts; 2 brothers, Glenn and Jerry Kingman; and 2 sisters, Joyce Kingman Pixey Webb and Eileen Kingman Duley.
