Phillip L. Baker, 68, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away at 9:59 AM Thursday, December 22 in Rush Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 12, 1943 in Rush County to Everett and Marjorie (Ruble) Baker. He married Betty Davis on January 30, 1966 and she survives.

Phil worked for Farm Bureau delivering feed for nearly 24 years, retiring in 1995. He attended both the Chapel Missionary Baptist and the Everton Southern Baptist churches. Phil was an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife Betty of Rushville, Phil is survived by his daughters, Teresa Sizemore and Jonathon Peters of Laurel, Margie & Terry Barrow of Manilla and Cathy Hatfield and Daniel Kreidler of New Castle, a brother, Everett Baker Jr. and a sister, Virginia & Kevin Gephart, both of Milroy, grandchilren, Larry and Rebecca Lewis, Taylor Sizemore, Lindsey Peters, T.J., Travis and Casey Barrow, Heidi Morris, Heather Heaston and Dylan & Kayla Miller, several great grandchildren also survive.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Patrick, "Bud" and Gene Ralph Baker, sisters, Loralei "Tiny" Baker and Phyllis Nail and grandson, Dalton Tyler Hatfield.

Services will be at 1 PM Monday, December 26 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Rev. James Hundley presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11 AM until time of service on Monday. Burial will be in the Orange Cemetery in Fayette County.

Donations may be made to the mortuary in order to offset funeral expense.
