Obit: Died on Monday morning,(February 8, 1886), at the family residence in Sugar Creek township, after a protracted sickness and great suffering, Mrs. Lydia B. Amos, wife of Elijah Amos, aged 44 years.
The deceased was born in Mercer County, Kentucky; at the age of eight years, her parents located in Tipton County, Indiana; she was married to her now bereaved husband in 1862, and has ever since lived in Sugar Creek township, this county.
She is the mother of five children, all living. When 17 years old, she joined the Christian Church and has ever since been a consistent member, and died in the triumphs of a Christian faith.
About four years ago, she was taken with consumption, and though everything was done that an affectionate husband or medical skill could do, she grew worse. For the last year, she has been confined to her room.
The funeral was held yesterday at the Hendricks (now Oak Hill) Cemetery; service by Rev. Thomas Stafford. A good woman has gone to her reward.
