Daughter of Robert & Rebekah Stephenson. Wife of John H. Amos.

Obit: Mrs. Iva B. Amos, 61, a native of Boone County, died at her home in Kirklin at 10:30 o'clock Saturday night following an illness of three days with apoplexy.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Kirklin Christian Church, with the Rev. H. A. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery near Kirklin.

Mrs. Amos had spent her entire life in the vicinity of Kirklin. She was born a few miles south of town in Boone County on September 24, 1870. She was the daughter of Robert and Rebekah Stephenson. She was united in marriage to John H. Amos on April 12, 1893. A number of years ago the family established its residence in Kirklin where they have since resided and where Mrs. Amos united with the Christian Church.

Surviving are the husband, four daughters, three sons, a sister, a brother, one half-sister and a step-sister and her father. The daughters are; Mrs. Ethel C. Combs of Indianapolis, Miss Helen M. Amos of Mishawaka, Mrs. Alta Bird of Kirklin and Miss Winifred Amos at home. The sons are; Everett Amos of Chelsea, Massachusetts, John L. Amos, a sailor, and Fred R. Amos at home. The father; Rev. Robert Stephenson, resides in Boone County; the sister; Mrs Addie Campbell lives in Lebanon, Mrs. Ruby Hopp of Lebanon is a half-sister and Mrs. Pearl McRoberts is a step-sister.

The son, Everett Amos, is a keeper of a lighthouse on a barren island off the Massachusetts coast. When he received word that his mother had been stricken the government coast guard sent a boat out with a relief man and brought him ashore and he is expected to arrive in Kirklin today to attend the funeral. The other son, John L. Amos is a radio operator on a merchant ship which was scheduled to spend Thanksgiving day in Cape Town, South Africa.
