She was born Galina Ampenova. She was a Mother Superior of The Convent of the Annunciation in London. Born in Russia, she lived in Moscow until the revolution pushed her family into emigration to England. In 1940 she joined the Monastery of Gesthemene in Palestine where she became a nun. After the state of Israel was created, the monastery had to move around and eventually she found herself in England where together with other nuns she founded The Convent of the Annunciation, the first Orthodox Womens Convent.
