Daniel D. Beechy, 65, 3170 S. 375 West, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at his residence. He was born Aug. 30, 1938, in LaGrange County to Daniel A. and Anna W. (Yoder) Beechy. He married Alma E. Miller on Dec. 4, 1958, in Shipshewana. A lifetime LaGrange County resident, he was a retired farmer and woodworker for Beechy Furniture Shop. He was a member of Old Order Amish Church. He is survived by eight daughters, Amanda Sue (Alvin) Yoder, Irma (Christy) Krepp Jr. and Vera (Toby) Yoder, all of LaGrange, Ida Mae (LeRoy) Yoder, Topeka, Pollyanna (Vernon) Bontrager, Shipshewana, Fannie Irene (LeRoy) Yoder, Topeka, Mary (Phillip) Schwartz, Middlebury, and Martha (Milton) Bontrager, Wolcottville; five sons, Vernon (Esther Miller) Beechy and Alvin Jay (LindaRose Lehman) Beechy, both of LaGrange, Ernest (Mary Esther Lehman) Beechy, Shipshewana, Harley (Linda Kay Miller) Beechy, Middlebury, and Daniel (Esther Miller) Beechy, Topeka; a brother, Aaron Beechy, Topeka; three sisters, Katie (Ura) Garber, Ashland, Ohio, Emma (Roman) Yoder, Greenwich, Ohio, Lydiann Beechy, Topeka; and 85 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Beechy and William Beechy; and a sister, Barbara Beechy. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and all day Tuesday at the family residence, 3170 S. 375 West, Topeka. The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Harley Schrock residence, 3770 W. 350 South, Topeka. Bishop Alvin Mishler and home ministries will officiate. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange.
