William E. "Bill" Banister, 88, of Brownstown passed away at 7:24 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, Indiana.
Born July 1,1922 in Crothersville, he was the son of the Late Morton Edward & Blanche (Berry) Banister.
On November 22,1943 he married Nellita "Kate" Craig in Crothersville, Indiana.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran 94th Infantry Division serving in W.W.II European Campaign. He was employed for 22 years at Arvin's Industries until 1980 and then at Cummins retiring in 1983. He greatly enjoyed farming and his family.
He was a member of D.A.V. Post #7 of Seymour, Brownstown Christian Church, A past member of Brownstown Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife: Nellita "Kate" Banister of Brownstown, IN, A daughter: Cindy (Denny) Heiman of Brownstown, In, two son's Randy Joe and David Lee Banister both of Brownstown, IN, two grandchildren Erica (Trent) Bohn of Brownstown, IN, Josh Banister of Brownstown, In, one great grandson Jake Bohn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson: T.J. Heiman, three brothers: Kenneth, Charles, Russell Bannister, two sisters: Louise Clark, Thelma Bannister.
Pastor Bob Manuel will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Crothersville V.F.W. Post #1082.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 and after 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home.
