SEYMOUR — Charles E. Bannister, 65, of Seymour died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church, the Eagles Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Moose Lodge, all at Seymour. His CB handle was "Bald Eagle."
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Home, with Rodney Osborne officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Memorial services will be conducted by members of the Moose and Eagles lodges at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
Mr. Bannister was born in Jackson County July 11, 1930, the son of Edward Morton and Blanche Pearl Berry Bannister. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
Survivors include children, Steven Michael and Eric Dewayne Bannister, both of Seymour, Brenda Sue Chandler of Salem, Charles Ray Bannister of Cortland, Trixie Ann Witt of Scottsburg and Terry Lee Lucas of Austin; brothers, William Edward Bannister of Brownstown and Russell Leroy Bannister of Florida; a sister, Allie Louise Clark of Scottsburg; 25 grandchildren; and 24 great–grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Bannister; and a sister, Thelma Irene Bannister.
