Helen E Barger 87, of 507 N Cottage Lane, Mulberry, died December 26, in Home Hospital. She was born May 28, 1916, in Lafayette. She was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1934, and also attended Lafayette Business college. She married Keith J Barger on Oct 15, 1936, in Tippecanoe county, he preceded her in death on October 3, 1995. Mrs Barger worked as a probate commissioner for 25 years, retiring in 1983. She had been a member of Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 233 for 50 years. Her hobbies including crocheting and puzzles. She is survived by two sons, Richard K Barger and his wife Elizabeth of Dayton and Darryl L Barger of Lafayette; two sisters, Dorothy Weisbecker of Okeania, Ohio, and Lucille Dieterle of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile M and Martha L Fouts Elliott, and two brothers, Robert and James. Soller-Baker Funeral Home handled the arrangements with interment at Concord Cemetery. Memorials maybe made to Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church or Stockwell United Methodist Church.
