"ABBOTT, A. F., farmer; P.O. Yuba City; owns 1,250 acres of land; born in New York, in 1829; lived there until he was 22 years of age; in 1852 he came to California by water; settled in Marysville for a short time, and went to Sutter County, but soon returned. Shortly after he removed to Belmont, San Mateo county; where he remained until 1856, when he returned to Marysville. After being there three months, once more returned to Sutter county, where he has since continued to reside. He married Miss M. E. Spinks in 1858, a native of England; they have one daughter."
