Larry W. Barrett, 73 of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was born September 28, 1940 in Monticello, IN to Wilbur and Hilda (Welker) Barrett.



He married Vicki E. Stevens on July 22, 1960 in Elkhart. She survives along with a son, Greg (Carol) Barrett of Centreville, VA and a daughter, Susan (Ray) Rogers of Whitmore Lake, MI; 10 grandchildren and a brother, Russ (Deb) Mull of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Ross, 2 brothers, Jack and Richard Barrett and 2 sisters, Virginia Weaver and Janet Davenport and his parents.



Larry graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959 and retired as an electrician after 44 years for IBEW local 153. He was a member of Calvary Baptist church and enjoyed his family and fishing.



Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Friday, April 4th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to the 2 pm service on Saturday, April 5th at Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend Ralph VanderWerf and Dr. Daniel Gelatt will officiate. Burial will follow at Carleton Cemetery.
