Mary Jane Martin Ambrose was the daughter of John Decker and Isabel Decker of Westmoreland county, PA. Her family relocated to Clay county, IN in 1859. Mary Jane was married to David Ambrose in 1870.

Mary J. Ambrose Dies At Harmony
Mary J. Ambrose, 74 years old, widow of David Ambrose, died early this morning at her home near Harmony, following a long illness of complications. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William Oliver of Harmony; three sisters, Mrs. William Brown, city; Mrs John Chesterfield, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Lucinda Thomas of Carbon, and two brothers, Henry Martin, of Harmony, and Leonard Martin, of West Terre Haute. Funeral services were held at the at the United Brethren church in Harmony at 2 o’clock this afternoon. Burial at Calcutta cemetery.
