Marvin R. Brown, 62, of Butlerville passed away at 3:16 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born on December 16, 1946 in Ethel, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William and Etta Ball Brown.
He had worked in the coal mines in West Virginia before moving to Indiana. He later ran the Broomsage Auction Barn. He enjoyed line dancing and horseback riding.
Mr. Brown is survived by his son, Douglas Ray Brown of North Vernon, a daughter, Jaqueline Daugherty of Greensburg, sisters, Janet Rader of Indianapolis and Rose Schultz of Colthier, West Virginia, a brother, Danny Brown of Butlerville, five grandchildren, Dylan, Brayden, Jacob, and Seirra, Daugherty and Summer Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Virginia Montgomery, Ruby Copley, Betty Padunavac, Edna Witt, brothers, James Alvie Brown, William Brown Jr. and a grandson Zachary Daugherty.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the service. Burial will be at the Butlerville Cemetery with Military honors provided by North Vernon VFW Post 2021 and the United States Army. Arrangements are in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.
