Christian Doty died at his home one mile northeast of Bargersville, Monday evening at 9:00. He had been ill for several weeks with throat troubles which developed into pneumonia. His death did not come unexpected. Mr. Doty was born in Johnson county in 1833. He was a member of the United Brethren church and leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral services were held on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. VanCleve, at Bethel, after which the remains were interred in the Bargersville graveyard.

BARGERSVILLE – W. H. Groseclose and wife and Mrs. Ira Matheny arrived from Randles, Mo. last Thursday morning. They came too late to be present at the funeral of their father, Christian Doty. They returned home Tuesday.
