Grover Cain, 82, of Americus died Monday night in his sleep at his home and was found Tuesday at 9 a.m. by his daughter.
Bom May 30. 1892, in Indiana, he was the son of James and
Mary Hale Caine. A retired state highway employee, and 50 year member of Delphi American Legion, he was married to Zelpha Marie Culp, who died in 1962. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are six sons, Francis and Robert, both of Lafayette; Wilbur, Willis and Paul, Rt. 3, Lafayette, and James who made his home with his father; five daughters, Mrs. William Hurst,and Mrs. Leonard Noe, both of Lafayette; Mrs. George Downs,Villa Park, Ill.; Mrs. Raymond Hughes, Lebanon; Mrs. Ixkiis Hayden, Monticello; 26 grandchildren
and 24 greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) from 5-9 at Jackson Funeral Home, Delphi, where services will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday. The Rev. Donald Ashley will officiate, burial will
be in Americus Cemetery, with Delphi American Legion in
charge of military graveside services.
