Emma C. O'Brien was born October 18, 1894 in Douglas, Wyoming; the daughter of Jim and Rose O'Brien in a house that sat next to the present Episcopal Church. She attended school in Douglas, graduating in the class of 1912. She later taught school in Glenrock and Uva, Wyoming.
On August 28, 1918 she married Emerald G. Adair at Douglas.
Surviving her were two children, Marcia E. Amunson, Sacramento and Emerald J. Adair, College Park, Georgia. Also surviving were seven grandchildren: Karen J. (Adair) Tedmore, William A. Amunson, Emerald J. Adair, Gerald D. Adair, Michael R. Adair and Karal J. Adair; seven great-grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew, 16 great-nieces and nephews and several cousins. One cousin, Elsie Goldsby still resides in Douglas.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Emerald, and one brother, Jim D. O'Brien.
