Sylvia Saima Almos, 91, formerly of Missouri Ave. in Duluth and of Aurora and Hoyt Lakes, Minn., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in the Aurora White Community Hospital and Nursing Home. Sylvia was born in Floodwood, Minn., on June 11, 1916, to Oscar and Hilda (Heiskari) Rauvola. She graduated from the Floodwood schools and moved to Duluth. She worked for Wahl's and was the manager of Silver's Dress Shop for many years. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church, the Moose and the Duluth Woman's Club. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; sisters, Lila, Lillian; and her infant twin, Bertha; her son, Dennis; brothers, Eddie, Ernie, and Clarence. Sylvia is survived by her son, Ron (Lorrie) of Hoyt Lakes; her sister, Helen McCallum of Elk River; two brothers, Leonard (Betty) of Floodwood and Harold 'Buddy' (Maymie) of Babbitt; seven grandchildren, Laura, Jason, Connie, Tracy, Tina, Daniel, and Eric; eight great grandchildren, Dennison, Brennon, Tyler, Timmy, Rachael, Heather, Alec, and Noah; and many numerous nieces and nephews. VISITATION:12:00 Noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, in Bell Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Park.
