The Mass of Christian Burial for Frances T. Mensing will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord, with the Revs. Kurt Farrell and James Seitz co-officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Mensing, 88, of West Concord, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Frances Kubat was born March 5, 1919, in Havana Township, Steele County, Minn. She attended Rice Lake Country School, and later worked as a surgical aide at the Owatonna Hospital. She married Edward Mensing on April 19, 1936, and the couple settled on a farm in Dodge Center. They moved to their West Concord farm in 1944. She was a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord in March 1945. Mrs. Mensing was a meticulous homemaker and gardener, and especially enjoyed her flowers. She was a member of the CCW and was active in 4-H.
She is survived by two daughters, Darleen Gillard and Sharon (John) Pechacek, both of West Concord; a son, Jerry (Danielle) of Menomonie, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters, three brothers, and triplet great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Road, in Owatonna, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the service Saturday at the church in West Concord.
Memorials are preferred to the church or the cemetery.
