MANTORVILLE -- The Mass of Christian Burial for George F. Lermon will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in West Concord, with the Rev. Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Cemetery, West Concord.
Mr. Lermon, 90, of Mantorville, died Wednesday (June 13, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Grinnell, Iowa, and grew up in Grinnell. In the early 1930s, he moved to Ellington Township, Dodge County, then moved to West Concord in 1940. He married Mary Butler on June 10, 1941, and the couple farmed together in West Concord. He was a member of the Mantorville Senior Citizens and Knights of Columbus, and was involved in building the existing Catholic church in West Concord.
Survivors include five children, Robert (Marilyn) Lermon of Mantorville, Dodie (David) Ellingson of Owatonna, Paula (Tim) Talbert of Dodge Center, Bill (Debbie) Blom of Winona and Brad (Char) Blom of Grand Rapids, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Cordy) of West Concord. He was preceded in death by his wife, a grandson and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at West Concord Funeral Chapel, and an hour before the service Monday at the church.
