Victoria Matyshok was born in Poland on Nov. 29 1877, the daughter of John (Johannes) Matyshok and Julianna Kolodziej. In 1880 she came with her family, to the United States and lived at Delano, Minn. until 1896 when she married Martin Blascyk and moved to Stevens County. She moved to Herman in 1929.
She was an active member of the Ladies Guild of her church and a Gold Star member of the American Legion Auxillary.
She was the mother of 11 children, two of whom preceeded her in death. Surviving to mourn their mother's passing are five sons; John of DeGraff, Steve of Pontac, Mich., Louis of Benson and Anthony and Theo of Herman and four daughters: Mrs. Mary (S.L.) Churchill and Mrs. Margaret Ennen of Herman, Helen of Minneapolis and Mrs. Josephine Hanft of White Bear Lake.
