Mrs. John (Nancy) Alampi, 48, 1720 Valley View Drive, died Thursday (July 19, 1984) in Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wis., after several month's illness.
She was born Aug. 15, 1935 in Nashwauk, Minn. to Floyd and Helen Tamminen McCollor, and married John A. Alampi June 30, 1956, in Nashwauk.
She was a registered nurse and served as president of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Winona County Cancer Society and the Winona County Dental Auxiliary. She also served on the Winona State University Nursing Advisor Board.
She was also a former president of the College of Saint Teresa Advisory Council, the Winona Mrs. Jaycees and the Woman's Golf Association of the Winona Country Club. She was a member of the Portia Club, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and on the board of directors of Community Memorial Hospital. She had lived in Winona since 1958.
Survivors are: her mother, Nashwauk; her husband; a son, David, Winona; a daughter, Diane, Ithica, N.Y.; a brother, Alan McCollor, Nashwauk; and a sister, Mrs. William (Mary) Hansen, Nashwauk. Her father has died.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona, the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 - 4 p.m. and from 7 - 9 p.m. today at Fawcett Funeral Home, Winona, where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be: David Kroskopf, Ruby Miesbauer, Philip Feiten, John Van Hoof, Warren Wunderlich and Oran Featherstone.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Remembrance Fund at Community Memorial Hospital.
