David Ray Boroski, 65 of Oslo, MN, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND.
He was born January 8, 1947 to Joseph and Olga (Cerkowniak) Boroski on the family farm near Halma, MN. David attended grade school years one through six in Halma and grades seven through twelve in Karlstad, MN. He graduated from Auto Mechanics School in May 1967 in Thief River Falls, MN.
David enlisted in the Army June 26, 1967. He served with Troop A 32nd Squadron 1st Cavalry 4th Infantry Division. He was stationed in Vietnam where he was injured leaving him with life time permanent disability. He received his Honorable separation papers at Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado on December 18, 1968. One of the many medals he was awarded was the Purple Heart.
He lived in Arizona and Colorado for most of his adult life. He knitted and crocheted making hats, scarf's, mittens and booties for the homeless and disabled Veterans.
On June 13, 2007 David entered the Pueblo Extended Care Nursing Home in Pueblo, Colorado. In 2007, David was flown by a private medical jet to Fargo, ND where he received medical care at the Fargo Veterans Hospital before going to the nursing home in Hallock. On July 24, 2009, David was moved to Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo to be closer to the Veterans Hospital for his medical treatment.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign wars of the United States Post 4061 in Canon City, Colorado and also a member of the Francis J. Beaton Chapter No. 1 Disable American Veterans of Fargo.
Left to mourn his passing are his siblings, Edward Boroski, Dorothy Gantter, Robert (Dianne) Boroski, Ruby (Theodore) Olsonoski, Bernard (Sandy) Boroski; step-brothers, David and Danny Flint; step-sisters, Cathy (Richard) Englund, Judy (Roger) Davis and Rita Flint; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at DuBore Funeral Home of Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour before services.
INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
LUNCH: After graveside services, lunch will be served at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN.
