Ivan was born April 18, 1929 in Int'l Falls; he was baptized by Rev. Evans in 1929. In 1941 he moved to Loman and lived on the Black River Road. He was a confirmed member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Loman, MN. In 1944. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952. He married the former Jessie Darlene Rud on December 26, 1953 in International Falls
In 1962 the family moved to Birchdale and lived there until moving back to Loman in 1967. In 2002 Ivan and Jessie move to Baudette where they have lived the past two years
He was a woods worker and carpenter and enjoyed spending time at his cabin, hunting, woodworking, spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post 217 in Baudette, Mn., and a long time member of the Rainy River Riffle Association in Loman, MN., and a member of the Loman Senior Citizen Club.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents Jens and Johanna (Johnson) Dahl, stepfather Ross Phillips, Sister Elaine Rud, Brother David Dahl two Brothers-in-law Reuben Nelson and Willard Crawford, Stepbrother Reynold Phillips, Nephews Thomas Mord and Jeffrey Dahl.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Dahl of Baudette, Mn., sons Russell (Patty) Dahl of Int'l Falls, MN. Ronald (Lavenda) Dahl of Moore, OK., Vernon (Peggy Gordon) Dahl of Int'l Falls, MN. Kenneth (Terri) Dahl of Oklahoma, OK. Daughters Sonja (Scott) Pelland of Littlefork, Mn., JoEllen (Jeff Butts) Dahl of Int'l Falls, MN. Ten Grand Children, Nicole Dahl, Dustin and Regina Dahl Ashley, Peter and Jacob Dahl, Phillip and Melissa Pelland, Rick and Crystal Gordon. Sisters Helen (Howard) Mord of Baudette, MN. Margaret (Leonard) Simon of Branson, MO. Step-brothers Dick (Sharon) Phillips, Bill (Barb) Phillips and step- sisters, Marie (Ted) Lovedahl and Nancy Phillips.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to services at Bethany Lutheran Church in Loman, MN with full Military Rights. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Loman, MN. The Family would prefer memorial to Bethany Lutheran Church in his memory
