Nina Faye Brace was born on 05 March 1923 in Gage, Ellis County, Oklahoma, to George and Audrey (Shaw) Brace. The family moved to Minnesota when she was 14 years old. Nina attended Springfield High School in Springfield, Minnesota, and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.

Nina married Bud on 08 March 1942, in Brookings, South Dakota. Irvin Leroy and Nina Faye (Brace) Ahrens had four children, Barbara Anne (Lemcke), Jean Deloris (Baune), Rita Faye (Arnold), and James Leroy "Jim" Ahrens.

Bud and Nina lived in Redwood Falls before they moved to Florida and Arlington, Virginia. They returned to Redwood Falls in 1945 where Nina worked as a waitress at the Jolly Mill Cafe from 1957 to 1958, and as a checker and part-time office employee at Jenkins' Super Market from 1958 to 1965. Her husband, Irvin Leroy Ahrens, died in 1962. Nina moved to Washington State in 1965, where she worked in the office of Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Nina Faye (Brace) Ahrens married Clyde Stowe in 1966 and they moved to Texas. She worked in the office of St. Joseph's Catholic Hospital in Houston for a short time in 1967. Nina Faye and Clyde Stowe divorced in 1967.

In 1968, Nina Faye married Kenneth Owens in Conroe, Texas, where she worked at the VFWs in Conroe and Springs, Texas, until 1983. In 1984, she moved to Ontario, Oregon. She returned to Minnesota in 1996. Nina was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Conroe and in Springs, Texas.

Nina Faye (Brace) Owens died on Monday, 28 March 2005, at the age of 82, at her home in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota.

Nina Faye was survived by her daughter, Rita (Lewis) Arnold of Litchfield, Minnesota; son, James of Kennewick, Washington; sons-in-law, Jerry Baune of Ontario, Oregon, and Roger Lemcke of Walnut Grove, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Sawin of Everett, Washington; and, brother, Keith (Mona) Brace of Tucson, Arizona.

Nina was preceded in death by her three husbands; two daughters, Barbara Lemcke and Jean Baune; one grandson; one brother; and, two sisters.

Visitation for Nina was for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Her funeral was held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, 29 March 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial followed in the Redwood Falls Cemetery, Redwood Falls, Redwood County, Minnesota.
