Barbara K. Barton, 69, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 1, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Springﬁeld.
She was born Aug. 4, 1943 in California, to Otis and Alma Cook York.
She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Robert Blatter.
On Aug. 6, 1981 she married Donald P. Barton.
After graduating from the University of Missouri Columbia, she taught ﬁrst grade in Plato Schools in Plato for 22 years.
She was raised in the Palace Union Church and had been attending Embry Community Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served on the Palace Cemetery Board.
Survivors include her husband, Donald, of the home; a daughter, Stacy Patterson and her husband, Arden, of Lebanon; two stepsons, Ronald Barton and his wife, Gail, of Plato and Clark Barton and his wife, Kelly, of Oak Ridge,Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Kelci, Surina, Shayne, Shaylyn, Genevieve, Kate, Isabella, and Vivienne, also her mother, Alma York, of Lebanon.
Funeral services for Barbara K. Barton will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 in the Palace Union Church, near Evening Shade with the Revs.

Burial will be in the Palace Cemetery, near Evening Shade, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Palace Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
