Death: May 27, 1938

Fulda this week mourns the passing of one of its pioneer residents, Frank Addy, who had made his home here for almost half a century. Mr. Addy had passed his eightyth birthday in February. For several years he has had heart trouble, one attack about three years ago being expecially severe. He recovered slowly from that attack and was up and about the house until a week before his death. His condition grew critical about a week ago and members of the family were in constant attendance at his bedside. He passed away Friday morning.

Franklin Alfred Addy, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Addy, was born on a farm near Sabula, IA where he spent his childhood and young manhood. He felt the urge of the pioneer to move further west and joined several brothers at Cherokee, IA. He was united in marriage to Clara Grace Millington in 1884. After living in Cherokee about seven years they moved to a farm east of Avoca, but remained there but a short time when they came to Fulda, which has been their home over 46 years. Mr. Addy engaged in the farm implement business and later was a carpenter for many years. After he retired from active life he retained a keen interest in world affairs and continued to discuss economic and political problems with his family. He is survived by his wife and six daughters, Mrs. Alfred Wynne (Louella) of Windom, Mrs. Granville Brandt (Florence) of Ogilvie, Mrs. H.V. Brandt (Fannie), Mrs. Henry Talcott (Cora), and Miss Bertha Addy, of Fulda, and Mrs. A.D. Moody (Clarice) of Aledo, IL. There are four grandsons and one granddaughter. Two sons Clarence and Edward and two daughters, Verda and an infant daughter preceded him in death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.A. Peterson of the Presbyterian Church, Sunday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Talcott.
