Percy Anderson Farmer, Dies
HAMMOND – Percy F. Anderson, 74, of Zumbro Township, Wabasha County, a farmer and former school bus route operated, died Saturday at the Lake City Hospital after an illness of three years.
He was born Dec. 28, 1893, in Zumbro Township and lived on the same farm nearly all of his life. He operated a school bus to Rochester for some 23 years.
Mr. Anderson was Zumbro Township clerk for 30 years and was a member of the South Troy Wesleyan Methodist Church, serving as church clerk for 30 years.
He is survived by his widow, the former Lela Wyatt, whom he married Sept. 4, 1918 in Zumbro Township; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Lucille) Tietze of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Peter Krueger of Rochester and a brother, Ray of Zumbro Falls. A sister, four brothers, a half sister and three half brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wesleyan Methodist Church in South Troy with the Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery at South Troy.
Friends may call at Webster Funeral Home in Rochester until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and then at the church until time of services.
Active pallbearers will be Norton Beyer, Arthur Funk, Henry Hermann, Charles Kennedy, Grover Mitchell and Joe Roland. Honorary bearers will be Lyle Chilson, Joyce Gruhlke, Charles Howard, Clinton Johnson, Vernon Mickow and Fred Westendorf.
