Former Anchorage resident and counselor Robert Marvin Allen, 70, died Feb. 13 in Oakland, Calif. A service was held Feb. 16 at Fouche's Hudson Funeral Home in Oakland, Calif.
Mr. Allen was born Oct. 6, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas. He attended elementary school and Douglas High in El Paso, Texas. He moved to Anchorage in 1972 and worked in drug rehabilitation for the Municipality of Anchorage. He retired and returned to California to be with his family in 1985. The family made the following statement: "Retired life, though wonderful, quickly became a bore and he soon returned to his beloved counseling of young people."
He is survived by his grandsons, Joseph Tiger and Michael Clark; his nieces, Aissa and Yolanda; and his nephew, Richard III. Interment was in Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond, Calif.
