From the Adams Review, March 20, 1969:
Albert J. Alberts, 67, was found dead on his farm 1-1/2 miles east of Taopi Sunday. Cause of death was due to an unusual accident in the silo.
Alberts had gone into the silo to feed cattle. While he was in the silo, a piece of frozen silage broke loose from the wall and fell on him.
Alberts was found by his son Ronald about 4:30 p.m. Mower County Sheriff's officers investigated.
Alberts is survived by his wife, Minnie, two daughters, Mrs. Laverne (Norma) Kiefer, Taopi; Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Rice, Denison, Iowa, and one son Ronald of Taopi. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother, all living in Germany.
Funeral services were held at Taopi Covenant Church with Pastor Carroll Main officiating. Interment was in Little Cedar Cemetery in Adams.
