He was born on July 1, 1911 in Duluth to August and Edith (Erickson) Aho. He moved with his family to a farm in Clark Township near Tamarack in 1917.
Henry worked on the family farm until 1941 when he began his career as a lineman for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was transferred to Montana and made his home in Laurel, Mont. He moved back to Minnesota and made his home at Southview Apartments in Cromwell. Henry had a remarkable sense of humor and a keen interest in his friends. He enjoyed his family and visited often. While he lived in Montana, he kept in close contact by phone and letters. His church was important to him and he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Thelma.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Marilyn of Maple Valley, Wash. and Ronald of Oregon; six sisters, Betty (John) Holm and Julia Beckman, both of Cromwell, Ellen Resso, Esther McGuire and Dorothy (Ray) Tiili, all of Duluth and Alice (Don) Hietala of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, William (Thelma) Aho of Las Vegas, Arthur (Mary) Aho and Leonard (Toini) Aho, both of Tamarack; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Thursday from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service in St. John's Lutheran Church, Wright. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Arrangements by Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
