Frank Samuel Juntunen was born in Shell river township, July 2, 1920. He grew up in this community and in 1942 enlisted in the united States Navy. After receiving his honorable discharge, he lived around here for a short time. For about ten years he has made his home in Montana, where he was employed in the logging industry.
He was critically injured while at work on December 19, and died a few hours later, at the age of 37.
His father, John Juntunen and one brother have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Wesley Ely of Menahga, 6 brothers; John of Minnepolis, Edwrd of Neihart, Mont., James of Menahga, Max in the U.S. Navy, and Roger of Hibbing; also four sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Ruth) Harless, Mrs. E.B. (Aileen) Morris, Mrs. Royce (Ruth) Harmon, and Rachel, all of Calif.
He leaves many more distant relatives and a wide circle of friends.
