Phyllis G. Belsheim, 73
A funeral service for Phyllis G. Belsheim was held on Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2006, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, with Pastor Roger W. Hett officiating. Interment was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lakefield. Phyllis passed away on April 1, 2006, at the Sioux Valley Hospital.
Nephews as casket bearers were Brad Rossow, Dean Belsheim, Dwight Belsheim, Dan Belsheim, Dick Belsheim, and Dennis Belsheim. Nephews as ushers were Earl Graham and Pete Minear. Organist was Rosalie Hett. Osterberg Funeral Service handled the funeral arrangements.
Phyllis Gene Belsheim was born on Oct. 4, 1932, in Lakefield, Minn., the daughter of Walt and Gene (Thomson) Rossow. She graduated from Lakefield High School in 1950. After her education, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Lakefield for five years. She was united in marriage to Donald Neal Belsheim on March 18, 1956, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. After marriage, they moved to Minneapolis. She worked as a preschool teacher at St. Peter Lutheran for 30 years, retiring in 1997. In 2004 they moved to Jackson.
Phyllis was baptized at St. Peter?s Lutheran Church in Delafield Township, Jackson County, and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. After they moved to Minneapolis, she was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Edina, where she had been active in the LWML. When they moved to Jackson, she became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was also a member of card clubs, a Marathon 500 Club and the Brown Street Birthday Club. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and keeping house. Besides her faith, her family played an important part of her life.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Belsheim of Jackson; a daughter, Lisa and her husband, Greg Spotswood of Fairmont; a son, Jeff Belsheim of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Gini and Alex Spotswood; her mother, Gene Ringgenberg of Jackson; one brother, David Rossow and his wife Mary Lou of Camdenton, Mo.; a sister, Elaine Belsheim of Cambridge; two stepbrothers, Robert Ringgenberg and his wife Barb of Petersburg, and Doyle Ringgenberg and his wife Ginni of Jordan; a stepsister, Glenda and Carlton Bargfrede of Lakeville; an aunt, Stella Tuner of Apple Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Linda Belsheim.
