Calvin Hugh Adams

SALISBURY - Calvin Hugh Adams, age 66, died on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Adams was born on Feb. 14, 1943, in Wilkesboro. He was the son of the late Spencer Adams and Flossie Privette Adams.

Mr. Adams was educated in the Wilkes County Schools and was retired from the N.C. DOT as a heavy equipment operator in road construction. He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Adams is survived by a stepson, Rick Tutwiler of Badin; three stepdaughters, Sandra Tutwiler and Brenda T. Brown, both of Salisbury and Tammie Shiffett of Harrisburg, Va.; grandson, Justin Tutwiler of the home; brother, Jerry Adams of Wilkesboro; sisters, Mrs. Ruth A. Carter of Danville, Va. and Mrs. Hazel "Betty" Hazard of Tex.

Service: A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11. at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex on Statesville Blvd. With the V.A. Hospital Chaplain officiating.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care, 512 Klumac Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Evergreen Cremation Services of Salisbury is assisting the family.
