Norman D. Bose, 79, Woodstock, died Thursday morning, August 16, 2007 at Pipestone County Hospice House, Pipestone.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Pipestone with Rev. Richard Sliper officiating.
Casket bearers will be Michael Vander Lee, Randy Wicks, Kim Hintermeister, Brian Vander Lee, John Heuer, and Jan Hintermeister.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson.
Norman Duane Bose was born to Frank and Cora (Aderhold) Bose on Oct. 17, 1927 in Slayton. He was raised on the family farm in Chanarambie Township of Murray County. He attended country school and then high school in Lake Wilson. After he graduated from high school in in1946, he helped his father farm.
He married Audrey Vander Lee on March 31, 1948 at her parents' home near Lake Wilson. Following their marriage he continued to farm the family farm. He lived his entire life on this farm and farmed there until his retirement in 1996.
In 1997 Norman was diagnosed with prostate cancer. On June 21, 2007 he was admitted to the Pipestone County Hospice House.
He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He served on the Chanarambie Township Board for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Bose, Woodstock; his four children, Tyrell "Terry" (Nelva) Bose, Brandon, S.D.; Robert (Julie) Bose, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Wendy (Pat) Whalen, St. Paul and Kristin (Ivan) Vis, Leota; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Samuel Whalen; and his brother, Veryln Bose.
