Herman P. Edmundson, 93, Lake Wilson, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Slayton Manor Care Center, Slayton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson.
Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson.
Herman P. Edmundson was born Jan. 8, 1912 to Andrew and Herminia (Beyer) Edmundson at their home in Cameron Township, Murray County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Country School District #44. He then farmed along with his family until 1940.
He married Evelyn Basemen on Sept. 6, 1940 and they made their home on the farm in Cameron Township. Evelyn died on Jan. 8, 1947.
On Dec. 1, 1948 Herman married Dorothy A. Schoening at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson and they continued to farm until his retirement in 1977. In 1978 they moved into Lake Wilson and in February of 2002 Herman became a resident of the Slayton Manor Nursing Home.
He was a member of the Polled Shorthorn Association; and a life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Lake Wilson; one daughter, Beverly (Roger) Ziemer, Cedar; one son, Andrew (Edna) Edmundson, Woodstock; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Riemer, Tyler and Clara Gilbertson, Lake Wilson; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; one son, Herman Jr.; one daughter, Marie; one step-daughter, Betty and three brothers, Carl, Lawrence and Henry.
