Vernice F. Bose, 87, Pipestone, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Pipestone County Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 8 at First Lutheran Church, Pipestone, with Rev. Jon Skaar officiating.
Pallbearers were Terry Bose, Dennis Jorgenson, Don Bisch, Gene Miller, Scott Larson and Merrit Johnson.
Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson.
Vernice Floy Bose was born to Fred and Mabel (Jorgenson) Larson on Feb. 14, 1917 in Clarkfield. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Clarkfield. When she moved with her parents to Lake Wilson in 1931 she continued her education there. After she graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1935, she attended teachers training in Slayton. Upon her completion of her education, she taught in rural schools near Lake Wilson and Pipestone.
She married Verlin Bose on Aug. 25, 1938 at the Lake Wilson Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they lived in Lake Wilson. They later moved to Pipestone where Vernice worked in several retail stores. Verlin preceded her in death on April 30, 1991. After his death she continued to live in Pipestone until August 2002 when she became a resident at the Good Samaritan Village in Pipestone. On June 25 she entered the Pipestone County Medical Center.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pipestone where she was active in the church circle, taught Sunday School and visited shut-ins. She was a member of Lake Wilson Lutheran Church, she was active in Luther League, taught Sunday School and was church organist.
She is lovingly remembered by numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and her brother, Fred.
