Bob Bambauer left his earthly tent and joined his Lord and Savior on March 21, 2013. He was 82. He married Betsy Nelle Hughes in June of 1956 in Madera, CA and they soon settled in Santa Cruz County.
After attending the men's Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo, Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. In 1961 he started his successful law enforcement career at the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, advancing to the rank of Lieutenant and transferred in 1978 to the California State Parks as a Law Enforcement and Safety Specialist, managing their K-9 and horse patrol programs. He also belonged to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church for 50 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, his three married daughters and their husbands, Butch and Julie Alford of Poulsbo, WA, Larry and Sue Crocker of Aromas, Paul and Carrie Clark of Watsonville, his seven grandchildren, Rob and Tara Alford, Nick and Shelby Alford, Treva Crocker, Bobby Crocker, John Clark, Grace Clark, and Callie Clark, his four great grandchildren, Madelyn, Jackson, Jacob and Zoe. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Beryl Bambauer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Bambauer; brother, Boyd Bambauer and sister, Barbara Mix.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. There will be a service on Tuesday, May 28, 11A.M. at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Rd. in Watsonville. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
