Amund Amundson and Peter Jorgeson worked on sailing ships between Norway and the United states. They left the ship in Pensacola, Florida in April 1914, wore as many clothes as they could without being noticed. They walked to the train depot and caught the train for Minneapolis. The family moved to Jessie Lake in 1928. Amund worked as a bricklayer/mason.
