Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Barchenger, 75, were held at First Lutheran church July 3, the Rev. E.L. Knutson officiating. Burial was at Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis T. Lovik, Alex Wiener, Carl Emblom, Herman Lyng, Norman Bohne and Rueben Eckberg. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Alex Wiener, Mrs. Marie
Eckberg, Mrs. Lillian Barner, Mrs. Albert Ethun, Mrs. Fred Crandall and Martha Schier. Mrs. Barchenger died June 30 at University Hospital, Minneapolis, after a short illness. Hilma Lyng, daughter of Herman and Julia Lyng, was born August 28, 1885 at Estinline, S. Dak. When she was four years old, the family moved to Kandota township where she grew to womanhood. She married Hans John Fossen at Sauk Centre Dec. 31, 1909. They were the parents of threee children, Leslie Fossen of Sauk Centre, Gladys (Mrs. Jack Flor of Dovray), and Hazel (Mrs. Harris Lintner) of Westbrook all of whom survive their mother. Mr. Fossen died Sept. 29, 1949. She married Henry Barchenger Sr. of Sauk Centre June 16, 1956. Mrs. Barchenger is survived by her husband and children and the following brother and sisters, Oscar Lyng; Mrs. Albert Eckberg, Mrs. Al Bohne, Sauk Centre, and Mrs. Minnie Topp of Grace City, N.D. Two brothers and sisters preceded her in death. There are four grandchildren.
