Alfred M. Anderson, age 91, passed away at the Sarepta Home Sunday, December 23, 1973. He was born in Benson, MN, Oct. 8, 1882, the son of Nels and Anna (Monson) anderson. He came to Sauk Centre in 1901 with his parents, who farmed in this area. Alfred was interested in carpentry, and spent his life at this trade. Many homes and buildings in the area exemplify his skill as a carpenter. He was married in 1913 to Tilla Brecken. One son was born of this union. His wife preceded him in death in Oct. of 1966, as well as three brothers: Gust, Godfrey, and Henry. Surviving are his son, Orrin and daughter in law, Irene, of Sauk Centre, a grandson, Orrin Jr. of Spicer, and granddaughter Kathleen (Anderson) Mrrray of St. Paul Also surviving are three sisters: Sigrid Anderson, Sauk Cedntre, Mrs. Hulda Davies, St. Paul, Mrs. Anna Barringer, Sauk Rapids, and 11 niecies and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the First United Church with the Rev. Charles Moore, Grey Eagle, Officiating. Mrs. Leona Walker was organist. Corrigan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment wasw in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ves Berg, Archie, Lane, Monty MrGourty, Max Kaufman, Adolph Ebensteiner and Roy Sieverson. Relatives attending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ives Davies, Mrs. Harry Mann, Walter Davies, Mrs. Godfrey Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. James Anderswon, Richard Barringer, Mrs. Wayne Degendorfer, Miss Beverly Degendorfer, Mrs. Eugene Murray, and Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Anderson Jr. and sons.
