Selmer Ysen 1907-1991
Selmer Ysen, 84, of rural Bagley, died on Monday, September 30, 1991, at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook.
He was born April 2, 1907 in Popple Township, Clearwater County, to Ole N. and Marie Ysen.
He was a lifelong resident of the Bagley area where he worked as a woodsman and trapper. Selmer was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He recently was presented the Prisoner of War Medal, authorized by Congress a few years ago. Selmer spent time in a German prisoner of war Camp. Selmer was also a member of the Lengby Spring Lake V.F.W. Post No. 2759.
Survivors include a sister, Thea Anerson of Bagley; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
His funeral will be Wednesday, October 2, at 2 p.m. at the Cease Funeral Home in Bagley with Rev. Clarence Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Gran Cemetery, rural Bagley.
