The funeral for Ronald H. "Ron" Alberts will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kasson, with the Rev. Clint Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.

Mr. Alberts, 61, of Mantorville, died of natural causes Friday (Jan. 18, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where he had been a patient for three days.

Born Sept. 20, 1946, in Kasson, he grew up in rural Mantorville. He was a 1964 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School and studied accounting for a year at junior college in Willmar, Minn. On May 21, 1966, he married Sue Anne Edmond in Kasson. They resided in Kasson for several years and then moved to rural Mantorville. Mr. Alberts worked at First National Bank in Rochester for five years, and then began farming, first with his parents and then on his own. He later became a real estate agent and developer, moving to Mantorville in 1989.

Mr. Alberts was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kasson. He was active in all phases of the Mantorville Masonic Lodge, where he held many stations and was a former Master of the lodge scholarship fund. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite, Shriners, Merry Medics in Rochester, as well as the Church Session for six years, and was chairman of the Evergreen Cemetery Board at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joel (Hilary) of rural Mantorville and Paul (Heidi) of Kasson; four grandchildren; his parents, Orvis and Gloria Alberts of rural Mantorville; and a brother, Richard (Marie) of Mantorville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Mantorville Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund.

Dibble Funeral Home of Kasson is assisting with arrangements.
