Irene was born February 26, 1926, in St. Paul to George & Emma (Johnson) Moore and was confirmed on April 2, 1939. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School. During the war she worked in a defense plant and later on at J.C. Penney in Wadena. Irene first met Arnold Rach on January 19, 1946 at the River Inn in Aldrich. They were united in marriage on Sunday, June 20, 1948 in Wadena. In 1950 they moved to their farm in Browerville where they raised their family. During this time Irene worked at the Land O'Lakes Milk Plant, Wesley's Meat Processing and The Gift Box. Irene was a witness to Christ and together with Arnold provided a solid foundation for their family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafting and spending time with friends and family. Irene was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa, holding many offices in the women's group. She served on the church council, taught Sunday School, and was active in Bible study and the quilting group. She loved attending Women's Week at Luther Crest Bible Camp and served as the delegate for several years. Irene was a long time member of the Golden Rule Homemakers Club, Hoe and Hope Garden Club and was a leader of the Hustlin Rustics 4-H Club.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, son Alan, grandson Jordan and brother George Eugene Moore.
