North Germany - George Graba, recently deceased resident of this community, came to Wadena county with his parents at the age of eight years and spent the remainder of his life in North Germany and Meadow townships. He took an active interest in the growth and progress of the community and made a host of friends who regret his early death at the age of 61 years. A ruptured appendix caused his serious illness and he was taken to Wesley hospital for treatment but died shortly after on September 9.
Mr. Graba was born in Brownville, Iowa, on June 27, 1872 and is survived by his wife and seven children namely; Mrs. Bessie Westra of Nimrod, Mrs. Beatrice Reber of this community and Freddie, Helen, Laura, Betty and Arlene at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Cornell of Centralia, Washington, Mrs. Melinda McGee of Roseburg, Oregon, and two brothers, John of Auburn, Washington and Samuel of Warrington, Washington. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at Sebeka with Rev. John Turnbull officiating and burial was made in what is known as the Graba cemetery in Meadow township
