WW1 Soldier that was killed as a result of a German U-boat attack upon the Troopship "Tuscania" in the North Channel of the United Kingdom. His remains were recovered on the shores of the Scottish Island of Islay, where he was buried until the close of the war. His body was exhumed in the 1920's and was placed aboard a barge to be sent to the States where he was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Big Falls, Minnesota.
He is the son of Emil Johnson & Gena Hanson both of which resided in Big Falls, Koochinching Co., Minnesota.
