June M. Hanke, 78, of Caledonia, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
She was born June 9, 1931, in La Crosse, Wis., to Roy and Freda (Palmlund) Hanke. June was a 1949 graduate of Caledonia High School. She then attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. June was employed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 38 years, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include one sister, Lois Goetzinger of Caledonia; one brother, Dale (Donna) Hanke of Mankato, Minn.; one nephew, Mark (Bonnie) Goetzinger of Caledonia; five nieces, Denice Goetzinger of Caledonia, Donnelle (Joe) Casler of Columbia, Mo., Deanne (Mark) Saari of Rush City, Minn., Sandra Block of Minneapolis and Lorilyn Dehning of Spring Grove; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister at birth; one brother-in-law, Casey Goetzinger; and two nephews, Lee Hanke and Neil Goetzinger.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Church, 201 N. 7th St., Brownsville, Minn. Pastor Brian Cuda will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Evangelical Church in Brownsville or the Houston County Historical Society.
Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
