He was born in Wisconsin, lived there for some years, then in Iowa, and came to Minnesota and began farming in Walden township, Pope County, a few miles east of Hancock in 1935. He was married to Matilda Brue at Algona, Iowa July 31, 1924.
Surviving are his wife and six children, all daughters, ranging in age from four months old to 12 years; by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Amerson of Cyrus; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Tegtmeyer of Woden, Iowa and Mrs. Ben Ersland of Thor, Iowa & by his brother, Joseph of Hancock. His death is a severe blow to the widow and six children who are left to face life without his help in earning a living, as the family has had rather hard luck owing to poor crops the past several years.
